Velocity Procurement was founded based on the unique partnership between two respected and knowledgeable procurement executives who were fixated on delivering ideas and solutions that would fundamentally change and improve their client’s procurement operations.
T Grant Dearborn
When Grant isn’t riding dirt bikes with his daughters or attending their many sporting events, he works hard to lead the growth of Velocity Procurement, a firm he helped co-found. When you get to know Grant a bit, if you can get him off of the phone that is, you’d truly get a sense for his desire to make every single business relationship a success – he wears his passion on both sleeves, even when he rolls them up! You see, Grant’s passion for building Velocity has been burning since he was young, following in the entrepreneurial footsteps of the four generations before him – all successful businessmen and businesswoman in their own right. To do this, Grant has spent the last 21 years, focused solely on Procurement, investing his time in all facets of the industry in an effort to enrich his wisdom and expertise doing something he truly loves.
Maulik J Shah
For nearly 20 years Maulik has dedicated his career to the procurement industry with a passion for helping companies save money and developing effective supplier relationships. Maulik has a strong passion for building value and improving business processes for all of Velocity’s clients, wherein he focuses his efforts on ensuring our client programs are built using best-practices and delivered with precision. Maulik immigrated to the US when he was just 3 years old with his parents. His mother and father both worked in a factory producing locomotive engines. His father and mother had a vision of becoming entrepreneurs and saved every dollar they could, to make that dream come true. His parents are now successful owners of multiple businesses and this is how Maulik gained his entrepreneurial spirit and the value of a dollar. “Success is not handed to you, it’s about vision, hard work and strive for excellence.” When he’s not engaged with clients, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He is also very mechanically inclined and loves to work on cars and in his spare time continue to perfect his remote-control lawnmower.
| Corporate Strategy
Tomas came to the US almost 20 years ago, he was initially transferred from France by his company Rhone-Poulenc (today Sanofi and Solvay). Before his arrival to the US, he had international assignments in France, Morocco and South Korea. At home, he spoke German with his parents and grew up in West Africa- Ivory Coast in French speaking schools, later he went to College in Paris. He always had to adapt to new multicultural environments, as such transformation and change management became his “way of life”. Procurement is fundamentally changing with the digital “revolution”, Tomas believes that this transformation will bring a completely revised supplier e-commerce ecosystem. In his spare time, Tomas loves to go to the Catskills to bike, run, ski, hike, or simply reflect on what is next on the strategic agenda.
