The Role

The Business Development & Proposal Specialist will be a member of the sales and marketing team responsible for supporting the sales of our procurement services.

Day to Day You Will

The Business Development & Proposal Specialist position will focus on activities that support the Sales & Marketing operations by focusing on business growth and proposals. This position will report directly to the VP of Business Development and will work with the Marketing Manager, SMEs, Practice Leaders, external customers and partner alliance companies.

The BD & Proposal Specialist will be responsible and accountable for supporting all tactical sales operational activities and successful proposal submissions.

Day to day you will:

  • Oversee tactical sales operations, establishing formal processes, evaluating performance, and making recommendations for improvement
  • Early identification and win strategy development and execution for new proposals
  • Relationship building with key customer stakeholder and alliance partners, resulting in strong value propositions that meet their needs
  • Develop opportunities in our pipeline to culminate in successful wins
  • Identify new opportunities and develop those opportunities to improve our win probability
  • Support the Sales Executives in interpreting customer requirements and developing a response that meets the execution strategy, schedule, and price
  • Interface with SMEs, Practice Leaders, and Managing Partners, including subcontractors and alliance partners for proposal-related activities
  • Develop document outlines, proposal content, writing assignments, and templates in accordance with customer proposals and RFPs
  • Coordination of all proposal deliverables, including team reviews of proposal and cost reviews in accordance with company proposal processes
  • Significantly contribute to proposal writing, technical writing and reviewing activities
  • Manage sales lead follow-up, meeting coordination and preparation
  • Collect, integrate and interpret competitive information
  • Handle technical and commercial questions and services inquiries from potential customers
  • Complete sales reports and provide data and analysis as requested
  • Create, populate, and update proposal management information in CRM
  • Effectively manage documents using MS Word, Drobox, etc
  • Attend national trade shows and industry conferences

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have


  • 3-5 years of experience in a business development or sales role within management consulting, procurement software or similar
  • Knowledge of sales cycle and its basic requirements
  • Ability to build relationships with alliance partners and key stakeholders
  • Self-starter and a proactive can-do innovative attitude
  • Requires excellent communication skills, cross functional experience, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Results and detail oriented with the ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Track, report and maintain the daily process and reporting metrics
  • Strong presentation skills; both in-person and via the internet (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills, attention to details
  • Ability to quickly learn and demonstrate proficiency with technical information
  • Works well independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe and Salesforce
